There is no easy way to locate and open the download directory

Amule puts downloaded files into the ~/.amule/incoming directory. Since it is a hidden directory, new users just have no clear idea of the way to visualize it but, most important, they have *no idea* that their files are hidden. Even if they look into Preferences panel to find where the download folder is, they see the complete path showing /.amule directory but most of them is just not aware that the dot before the name means hidden directory. Therefore, many people ask in forums how can they find the downloaded files.
There should be a direct link to the Incoming directory straight from the Amule interface or, at least, the default download location could be changed to ~/Download, as proposed in bug #486255.

I think this is the same problem than the bug #486255, can it be marked as duplicate?

Actually it isn't, even if they are closely related: bug #486255 focuses on an issue of coherence (if there is a "Download" directory, why a software whose work is download stuff doesn't put it in that directory??).
The matter I talk about is an issue of ease of use: lots of people ask "where does amule put the downloaded files??" because there is *no easy way* to understand that! If one doesn't know that a name like .incoming distinguishes a hidden directory, even going into the preferences menu and looking at the path isn't of any help because he won't see the folder in his/her /home and will maybe think that the software is messing and it doesn't work fine.

Most amule users come from Emule, where you have a "Tools" menu from which you can easily open the download directory, wherever it is. This is something also amule is supposed to have.

Most download applications provide some form of "Open containing folder" for downloads:

Transmission: right click on torrent -> Open containing folder
Firefox download manager: right click on file -> Open containing folder (there is also an icon for this)
Chromium downloads: "Open downloads folder" link at the top right corner

I think this is a basic feature expected in most applications with a download feature, the user shouldn't have to remember or even know where the application is configured to download files to.
