Bug Description

Binary package hint: amule

I use Ubuntu 8.04.1 Hardy Heron

it happens in amule 2.2.0~svn20080218-0ubuntu4

With Dark themes, I can't read the text, because it is clear, and the background is white
aMule should take the color configuration from the GNOME theme colors

same problem in Intrepid Ibex 8.10
very annoying.

It could be the way amule was uses Input Boxes to display text messages...The only way to see those messages is to open System -> Preferences -> Appearance -> Customize -> Colors -> Input Boxes -->> change the color from white to something a little darker...don't make it too dark as this will change colors in every input box available in the system and in the web browsers.

"I think this is wxGTK's issue, since AFAIK aMule does not control the colors, fonts and other looking-related settings, that is handled by wxGTK. You can try playing with GTK settings and see if you can get the color change you want.
