AMSN gets lost in the gnome-panel

Bug Description

When I "close" AMSN with the top-right cross, it should minimize to the notification area, but it just gets lost often. That means I have no access to it at all. When I try to open AMSN again, it says: already connected. It also takes forever for it to load at startup and it actually does not appear on the notification area at all.

I have installed the system from LinuxMint Bea rc and later upgraded changing the edgy entries in the sources.list to feisty.
