postinst failures: amavis.service start failure

We are receiving many reports of amavis-related postinst failures caused by amavis.service failing to start for some reason. Given the number of reports, I think it's reasonable to assume that they have a common cause. We can use this bug to track these reports for now to attempt to identify a common cause. Any duped bugs that do not have a common cause, or a common cause different from one that we identify, may easily be unduped again.

Also involved is total refusal to recognize previously connected, prior to latest upgrade, valid wifi connections, including security passwords/phrases and ability for recommended updates to be downloaded/installed.

This happened when I installed the following packages together after ClamAV with the following command from terminal:

"sudo apt-get install amavisd-new clamav-milter mimedefang" (without quotes)

And this was the bug:
