Bug Description

Binary package hint: amarok

This is a big dependency for a rarely used feature.

Could we make this a Recommends and just depend on libmysqlclient?

It did depend on mysql-server-5.1 until an hour ago, though. Once the new version builds it won't depend on mysql-server-5.1

I'm sorry to revive this thread.
i removed mysql-server-5.1 and amarok stopped working, the collection was empty and when i scanned for it i got
[ERROR!] Tried to perform query on uninitialized MySQL
so it seems in my server amarok was still depending on it

i installed it again and it works again, so was this mysql package replaced by a package i don't have? if so, why would it be that i still had the old dependency? i'm using 10.04 with everything up to date.
what's the package that replaced mysql-server-5.1's functionalities?

Thanks
