Bug Description

Binary package hint: amarok

package: 2:1.4.10-0ubuntu3
ubuntu release: 8.10 (intrepid)

what i expected to happen:
After ripping and encoding a recently bought music album using Sound Juicer, which (since Intrepid) encodes Ogg as .oga files, i would have expected Amarok to recognize these files as Ogg. I would have expected them to show in the collection, because the encoded files were put in a collection subfolder.

what happened:
.oga files did not show in the collection. Via the File tab on the left, i could put the .oga files in the playlist and play them, but the tags were not showing.

I know this is said to have been fixed in bug 201291 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/amarok/+bug/201291/), so it seems that this fix has not made it into this release.

The .oga is for audio only. Since you only use cd ripper and sound juicer for audio, just edit your sound juicer format for the oga extension to read ogg. Open sound juicer, edit, preferences, Output Format, CD Lossy .oga, change the file extension field to read ogg. and now they will rip in ogg be recognized, and play perfectly. Until amarok recognizes oga.
