Bug Description

This is hard to explain because I'm not an OS guru, but when I use Amarok 1.4 to drag-n-drop a new item into the playlist, everything except the mouse freezes. I am able to right click on a selection and 'apend to playlist' with no problem and I haven't noticed anything else about the program that causes this. I have tried to wait about half an hour for it to clear up, but it does not. It does not matter what I am trying to add to the playlist, whether it be from a radio stream or from my own collection, everything (except the mouse) freezes and I am not able to click on anything.
I have loaded a lot of software on to my Dell Latitude D520 laptop before I noticed it, so I am not sure if some other program is conflicting with it.
I am willing to post any logs I may have upon request.

So do you mean just the program is freezing, or is all of X freezing? In other words, is it Amarok that is freezing, or is it everything on your desktop?

This happens when you drag any file into the playlist, no matter where it's from? I assume you're dragging from Nautilus (the Gnome file manager, if you're using a stock Ubuntu install).

I have not seen this problem, and can drag and drop both files and folders into my Amarok just fine (usually). Sorry. =/ One thing you could try, since I don't know a whole lot, is simply making sure it's not something messed up with your install. If you have enough RAM for it, put in the Live CD and while inside that, install Amarok, and try it again. If the problem doesn't occur, something is messed up with your install. I'm assuming it is, because I have no problems with that on any of my machines.

I am not sure if I explained it in the bug, it was a while ago. I do
not think it was a bad install because it just happened one day and
didn't go away. It must have been a conflict with something else I
installed.
Yes it did happen when I dragged anything from anywhere into the
playlist, the entire X froze. Everything stopped working, the clock
stopped 'ticking', the gdesklets and screenlets stopped moving(cpu meter
and such) and the power button did not respond, so I had to hard boot.
I have not seen that problem before either and I have not seen it since
I reimaged with the 32bit version of 7.10. A lot of things acted funny
with the 64bit build, but that was so long ago and sadly, I did not keep
track of everything. Sorry to be no help on this, but it did happen
The next time I find a bug, I will be much more thorough!!!

Thanks for responding,
Ryan

Glad the problem went away, perhaps it was a bug that was fixed, let's hope! :)
