Bug Description

Occasionally, when Amarok is maximized, launched, or "unrolled" from it's roll up title bar it will crash the XServer causing me to re-login. This has happened on Gnome and KDE and only since upgrading to Ubuntu Feisty. It appears to be more likely to occur when I unlock the desktop and try to invoke amarok first, but that is not the only conditions this crash occurs under. The crash is not frequent enough for me to reproduce at will. In fact, repeated restarts of Amarok does not invoke it, only when when my system is idle for some period does it seem to happen (but even that is not always the case). So, it appears unpredictable such as you get from multi-threaded race conditions.

Are there any traces or debugging I can run to locate the problem?

Thank you for the reply. I found that it is most reproducible if I start Amarok, lock the screen (under Gnome), unlock the screen, click the small Amarok icon that brings it back into focus. Then XServer appears to crash (i.e., I have to re-log in.)

Amarok was started from the terminal command line, and stdout and stderr were captured in the attached text file.

Sincerely,
Ray

Please check if this still occurs with amarok 1.4.7 (in gutsy/feisty)

Thanks. I have all current software updates for Feisty, but Amarok is still
at 1.4.5. How do I upgrade to 1.4.7?
