Bug Description

Binary package hint: amarok

I have amarok 1.4.5-0ubuntu7 installed, and going into Settings->Configure Global Shortcuts (because Configure Shortcuts doesn't have options for next/previous or stop) to specify my keyboard's (MS wireless natural multimedia, specified as such in System-Preferences->Keyboard->Layout) multimedia keys doesn't have any effect in practice. The keypress capture utility correctly identifies and records all the XF86Audio{Stop,Play,Next,etc} signals, but amarok doesn't respond once configured. All these keys work just fine in Rhythmbox.

I can confirm this also. Keyboard media shortcuts do not work with Amarok in Feisty, but they work with other media players. I have a Dell Inspiron E1505.

Is this going to be triaged at all?

I can confirm this behavior with Amarok using my Logitech Internet Navigator keyboard. This bug appears to be a duplicate of launchpad bug #87299 which has requested no more "confirmation reports".

mowerm: this does appear to be a duplicate of bug 87299. I'll mark it as such. What's written in that bug report is that they already know that the problem exists. But marking this as a duplicate will clean it from the search results in launchpad.
