Bug Description

Binary package hint: amarok

This happens on a fresh Ubuntu Feisty. When using the crossfade option, amarok hangs at the time the next song should fade in. Without the crossfade option the next song loads fine. I tried to perform a backtrace, of which the result is attached.

Versions:
Qt: 3.3.7
KDE: 3.5.6
Amarok: 1.4.5

Crossfade is known to be a bit unstable. Right now the devs are working on porting to Amarok 2.0, so I don't know how much time they can devote to tracking down bugs in the stable 1.4.x series.

Please search bugs.kde.org and see if there is another bug similar to this one that we can link to from here.

I cannot find anything similar in the KDE bug tracker. However I find this a strange problem: the crossfade works as expected on my laptop but on my desktop the above problem occurs. Both run Ubuntu Feisty (final).

I just started experiencing this problem after upgrading the following packages:

kdebase-bin (4:3.5.6-0ubuntu20.1) to 4:3.5.6-0ubuntu20.2
kdebase-kio-plugins (4:3.5.6-0ubuntu20.1) to 4:3.5.6-0ubuntu20.2
kdelibs-data (4:3.5.6-0ubuntu14) to 4:3.5.6-0ubuntu14.1
kdelibs4c2a (4:3.5.6-0ubuntu14) to 4:3.5.6-0ubuntu14.1
kdesktop (4:3.5.6-0ubuntu20.1) to 4:3.5.6-0ubuntu20.2
konsole (4:3.5.6-0ubuntu20.1) to 4:3.5.6-0ubuntu20.2
libcinepaint0 (0.21-2-0ubuntu4) to 0.21-2-0ubuntu4.1
libjasper-1.701-1 (1.701.0-2) to 1.701.0-2ubuntu0.7.04
libkonq4 (4:3.5.6-0ubuntu20.1) to 4:3.5.6-0ubuntu20.2
libvorbis0a (1.1.2.dfsg-1.2) to 1.1.2.dfsg-1.2ubuntu2
libvorbisenc2 (1.1.2.dfsg-1.2) to 1.1.2.dfsg-1.2ubuntu2
libvorbisfile3 (1.1.2.dfsg-1.2) to 1.1.2.dfsg-1.2ubuntu2
rsync (2.6.9-3ubuntu1) to 2.6.9-3ubuntu1.1

prior to this crossfade worked fine, perhaps one of the changes in the KDE packages is responsible?

My original problem occurred with mp3's. I'll check asap if it occurs with ogg's as well.
