Pulse plugin breaks media player sound after pause

Bug Description

At least vlc and mplayer are affected; vlc become muted continuing playing video; mplayer's video freezes (not controls), only if play-pause period was short enough (about 1 sec). Firefox's flash is not affected.

Are you aware that both vlc and mplayer have native pulseaudio output plugins? If not, I suggest you use those output plugins with pulseaudio instead.

Yeah, both vlc and mplayer have native pulseaudio plugins (simple choosing of alsa device too), but I rather mean software that just using alsa:default ( which is pulse by default), maybe oss. For now it's only flash, but there was some trouble guessing why sdl games make slideshow and configuring to use alsa dmix.

Still present in 11.04 with 1.0.24-0ubuntu2 libasound2-plugins on another (same internal Intel ICH, but vendor:nvidia) hardware. Why incomplete?
