Bug Description

Since a few weeks the sound is suddenly stopping on my laptop after some time. This can happen when I play music with Spotify, talk with Skype or play with Steam. The only way to get the sound back is to restart the computer.

I tried to follow the sound troubleshooting procedure (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SoundTroubleshootingProcedure) but it didn't solved my issue.

Attached are the information generated by the also-info script and the pulseaudio log taken while the issue occurred.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1653687/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

The sound comes back after suspending the machine with `sudo pm-suspend`.

Only reloading alsa with `sudo alsa force-reload` or restarting pulseaudio with `pulseaudio -k && pulseaudio --start` doesn't work.

Updated to 17.04, issue is still there. I think it comes from alsa driver instead of pulseaudio.
