Triaged and verified at UDS.
Tried to add
 SND_PCI_QUIRK(0x1043, 0x1b13, "ASUS U41S", ALC269_FIXUP_STEREO_DMIC),
but it did not have any effect. Is ALC269_FIXUP_STEREO_DMIC perhaps only working on alc269VA?

Changed in alsa-driver (Ubuntu):
status: New → Triaged

This bug still exists in Ubuntu 11.10 and has carried forward to 12.04. I'm using 11.10.
