Bug Description

Sound only works for a brief second when the power supply is plugged in/unplugged.
I'm not just speaking of the sound of the beep that it makes when the power supplyu is plugged/unplugged but rhythmbox will play also

Eva has it solved.

Please try his ways and see if it solve your problems.

So it looks like we're waiting on a response from Eva?

What's the best way to track the changes made by updates in 12.04?
I am willing to do a fresh install but I have a feeling it's one of the updates that makes the stop working from a fresh-install to an up-to-date install.
Plus is it best to track these updates if I update via 'sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade' or should I just use the update manager gui?

Hi,
I don't get which report you would like me to do (I don't understand most of this programing). If you would like me create a report, please give me a commanline to use :).

When I reinstalled ubuntu, I used the old wubi-file I already had on my computer, thus I got the 11.10 version to start with. Then I updated to 12.04 LTS, using the updater.
I don't know about partitions and such things.

All I know is that now the sound works (and I hope it will stay).

Similar problem on Acer Aspire 3830T

Sound does not work on headphones/speakers in ubuntu.
When pluggine/unplugging the power cord all sound (not just beep) works for 1 sec
Sound works in Windows 7
Sometimes when rebooting Windows 7 a few times sound is left in a "good" state and ubuntu will work (and continue to work until booting into Windows again)

The solution seems to be this:
    open HDA_analyzer (http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/HDA_Analyzer)
In codec-0 outdir[0] and enable[0] must be unchecked
