No sound at all after Ubuntu update 12.04

Bug Description
After fianly getting sound to work last week. I updated on the 27th, and now I have no sound at all.
sudo aplay -l
aplay: device_list:252: no soundcards found
and there was no drive kernal for alsa either
Any help out there?
