Bug Description
The microphone is not working in 12.04, whereas 11.10 was ok. This is on a Dell XPS 14 laptop. No input device is detected in sound settings. Can be reproduced by trying Google Talk voice/video chat, and Skype.

I have the same problem with 12.04 running on Lenovo Ideacentre K330. Also, the Logitech IM/Connect Quickcam does not work properly the Cheese app seems to lock up, and the system cannot capture sound with the built-in mike. Works perfectly in Windows 7, of course.
