Bug Description
I had an issue with alsa 1.0.24 and ubuntu 12.04. So I added the ppa, but i still have an issue where I get sound from my headphones and not my speakers. It is as though the Audio Connector is not detecting the jack when plugged in/out.
I can confirm this was working well with Ubuntu 11.10
I filed a bug here, https:/
I run the following command and restarted my computer as headphones for output was not an option before I added the following:
echo "options snd-hda-intel model=auto" | sudo tee -a /etc/modprobe.
Headphones is now available as an output on my Acer Aspire 8930g, but with no speaker sound.
Before I added the above option, if the headphones where not plugged in I would get speaker sound and when I plugged in the headphones the speaker sound would not mute. If the headphones where plugged in on boot, I would have sound in headphones but when unplugged no sound in speakers.
I can clearly see here that the jack plug detection is not working.
