Bug Description

sound is crackling after upgrade to Oneiric.
this happens also in Precise daily image from 2012-01-26.

Actually only the right channel is affected. The left one works fine. Stereo is therefore "crackling".

soundwise everything worked fine under Natty.

running Intel DQ67SW mainboard.

i can confirm that sound is fine when only listening to the left channel. In the "Audio" setting panel I see the following strange behaviour on the output tab: when moving balance to the right channel the volume slider and the drop-down menu at the bottom start to "flicker/move around/change between the entries"....

Just retestet using kernel 3.2.0-030200rc1-generic #201111071935 SMP Tue Nov 8 00:37:52 UTC 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Sadly nothing changed: Sound still stutters if using both channels or adjusting volume...

Problem still exists. just wanted to add that only the right channel stutters and the left one is OK.

I will now test with the latest precise image and report back...
