Bug Description

My computers sound input has a lot of background noise. If I don't use Mic Boost it can't be heard but neither can my own voice. If I add Mic Boost my voice can be heard but it is also very noisy. Other people can just barely understand me in Skype (also true if I try to test it with other programs). Microphone works well in Windows Vista.

I have motherboard Asus P8Z77-M, where is ALC887-VD and using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64-bit and all updates but still same problem - strong noise at input when recording voice through microphone. My outputs:

This is still happening on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. Note that I no longer have Windows to test with.

Same on Ubuntu 13.10. Mic works OK in Windows 8 on the same machine.
