Bug Description

Expected behaviour: The internal microphone is muted when I plug the line in microphone and the line-in microphone works.

Current behaviour: When I plug a line-in microphone the internal microphone is not automatically muted. I tried to select manually the line-in input in the sound preference and mute the internal microphone in the alsamixer an still it doesn't work.

Using the latest alsa-modules from the ppa (linux-alsa-driver-modules-2.6.35-28-generic) still doesn't work.

I'm attaching the alsa-info with the microphone plugged and the latest modules installed.

I have tried different configurations, maybe that's the cause of the discrepancies. Can I test any specific configuration for you?

Hrm, nothing obvious here, perhaps except for EAPD being enabled on the Front Mic node which looks a little strange.
We could try disabling it manually: download snd-hda-tools from ppa:diwic/maverick, then start "sudo hda_analyzer", then goto node 0x0c and make sure the EAPD is *not* checked. While you're there, you can also try different values of VREF (50, 80, HIZ, etc) and see if that makes the mic work.

I'm assuming that when you run with the alsa driver modules installed, that the internal mic does mute but that the external isn't working either, i e a difference between the original behaviour, when the internal mic did not mute? Is that correct?

Thanks David,

I run the hda_analyzer and unchecked EAPD in the node 0x0c but still the same.

The behaviour is the same with the new modules installed, the internal mic does NOT mute and the jack mic is not working.

I'm going to try with the Natty daily build. Will post what happens.
