Since I don't see it shown this is for MSI AIO computer model AE2220.

This could be a regression because my computer model was mentioned in the alsa-driver changelog v1.0.22 to v1.0.23 (2.1.44 HDA codec driver).

I have not gotten sound through the speakers with either Lucid or Maverick.
I have tried no other distro on this computer.

What is the output from the following command in a Terminal?

`pactl stat'

In GNOME sound preferences, in the Hardware tab, what is the Profile selected? In the Output tab, what are the available dropdown choices for Connector, and which one is active?

Can you resolve this symptom by removing ~/.pulse* and logging out and logging in again?

I have attached the requested output file. The selected profile is 'Analog Stereo Duplex', the output connector shows 'Analog Speakers'.

What happens if you choose Analog Output in Connector?

Sorry, but there was no activity as the status was 'incomplete' and I didn't want the bug to expire.

There is still no sound from the speakers if I choose Analog Output.

Are you updating the linux-alsa-driver-modules builds daily? (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/InstallingLinuxAlsaDriverModules) Can you obtain corresponding updated debugging output? (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/AlsaInfo and https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PulseAudio/Log)

No, I didn't know about this. I will attempt to try this although this is not my primary computer. I am trying to correct the problem for another user. Thanks for the info.

I have updated alsa and attached the logs as requested. I still get audio but only out of the headphone jack.

Forget it, I am removing Ubuntu due to lack of support. No need for further response.
