[Realtek ALC888] No sound at all after update. Acer 7736g

Bug Description

Yeah, no sound at all.
Before; in 10.04 I had sound play through both headphones and speakers at the same time (so the driver was a bit buggy anyway), now just nothing.

Please open the file /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf as root, and add the following line to the end of the file:

options snd-hda-intel model=acer-aspire-7730g

Save the file, and reboot. Please test to see whether you have sound. Please also test to see whether the internal speakers are muted when you connect headphones.

ok added to the bottom..nothing
also it comes up with quite a few options in sound, (2 in the output) of which nothing works

i've the same problem with my acer7736zg and ubuntu 10.10. i tried your proposal (luke yelavich), but nothing happens. thank you.
