Please try appending the following line to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf and rebooting:

options snd-hda-intel model=ideapad

Rebooting with the option

options snd-hda-intel model=ideapad

in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

makes the internal microphone stop working.

It fixes the issue of headphone not being detected though, and the headphone microphone works.

As confirming previous comment on this bug,
i can say adding this option line into conf file
effects on internal microphone not working anymore

The problem occurs also on LenovoG560;
what the magic line must be in that case?

This workaround worked for me: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/InstallingLinuxAlsaDriverModules

In some similar bug reports, other people solved their problem with this: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HdaIntelSoundHowto

I have to say this was really painful for me: I had to search for a dozen hours before finally being able to use my headphones on a very common computer (Asus N73S).

How come this bug is still not resolved in Oneiric?
