I have the same problem here. Lucid Lynx won't detect any HW device in its sound configuration. I won't post anything else as my HW is just the same as specified above.

Will this bug be solved or taken care of?

@Guardian452, there seems to be a quirk in the driver, but the quirk does not look right to me. I've made a test package for you with a possible fix. Could you try download and install http://people.canonical.com/~diwic/temp/alsa-intel-hda-diwic-dc7600-dkms_1.0.23.diwic_all.deb - reboot afterwards and test, and tell if it helped or not? Thanks!

That package made ubuntu lucid recognize the embedded audio card, no sound though; but doesn't work on Maverick Meerkat (I upgraded), it changes nothing.

Anyway, thanks for the package!

Morning mates! That package ended my 4 weeks of soundless misery! I'm too using HP dc7600 Ultra Slim and Maverik. I've been trying every singel thing that had a look like it might make sense, so i don't know, what was that extra little something that made this package worke for me. I'm a bit of a dumbuser too so if i could do something to help you, you'll have to show me what and how.

My last week issues have been Maveriks inability to remember what soundcard i'm useing (ALC260) and connecting to it. It showed activity on PAV meter, but 'till now, not a sound.

@Madis, olopopo,

To confirm that you have the exact same hardware, could both of you please post an alsa-info to this thread according to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/AlsaInfo ?
