Please try updating your alsa drivers, as outlined here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/InstallingLinuxAlsaDriverModules. Please report back as to whether this solves your issue.

Hello,

Thank you for your help. I tried the option you point out, but didn't get any signal.

Speakers are still working fine. And I hear the typical metal sound of the connection when I connect the headphones, so I'm guessing it's probably some detail. Didn't get any issue with the 10.04 update.

I have something else for you to try. Please open /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf in an editor using sudo, and add the following line at the bottom of the file:

options snd-hda-intel model=thinkpad

If unsre as to how to open a file in an editor as root, you could use the following example: "sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf"

Once you have added the above line to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf, please reboot your system, and check to see whether your problem is resolved.

Please report back with the results.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Hello,

I followed the steps you mention in your last email and the problem is fixed
now:

- headphones working properly.

Speakers were already working properly.

That's the main concern I found of this beta version on my machine.

I'm also looking forward to give a try to the multitouch function in the
trackpad, which I haven't found yet. Not sure if it's yet there.

Thank you,

Nicolás Boullosa
