Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS
Tried to record through Line In. I can hear the sound through my speakers but no program recognizes the input. I used alsamixer and found that the CD volume control affected the volume of my line in.

This release of Ubuntu is no longer receiving maintenance updates. If this is still an issue on a maintained version of Ubuntu please let us know.
