Bug Description

The Built-in Microphone is not working on Sony VPCCW21FX.

Description: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
Release: 10.04

$ cat /proc/asound/version
Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.21

/proc/asound$ cat cards
 0 [Intel ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel
                      HDA Intel at 0xe8e00000 irq 22
 1 [NVidia ]: HDA-Intel - HDA NVidia
                      HDA NVidia at 0xe3080000 irq 16

$ cat pcm
00-00: ALC262 Analog : ALC262 Analog : playback 1 : capture 1

Solution:
This problem is solved by installing latest alsa-driver however everytime I update the OS it happens.

Does this still occur with the kernel from lucid-proposed?

Yep the problem still occurs, I reinstall alsa when I update my system.

This release of Ubuntu is no longer receiving maintenance updates. If this is still an issue on a maintained version of Ubuntu please let us know.
