Bug Description

Microphone Issue [No signal from internal and external microphones], microphones not detected....
I had this issue with Ubuntu 9.10 also.
Help me, to get rid of M$ Windows... Thank you.

lspci-vv Edit (13.8 KiB, text/plain)

I have the same issue, have had it for the last 3 releases. 4 releases back I could fix it editing /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf and adding some options, but that stopped working.

I have nearly the same laptop, mine is a Satellite U405-S2856. My commands output the same as yours, please run these as well:

lspci -vv
lshw
aplay -l
cat /proc/asound/card0/codec#* | grep Codec

and verify that your output matches mine.

The internal mic doesn't worl, the app Sound Recorded doesn't capture anything. I have noticed that USB mics do work, though.
