Output "Connector" doesn't work, it outputs always from both connectors

Bug #550591 reported by Nico_argentina on 2010-03-29

alsa-driver (Ubuntu)

Bug Description

Package: alsa-base (or pulseaudio, not sure)
lsb_release -rd: Ubuntu lucid (development branch) (beta1, up-to-date)

This is a Dell XPS 1530. It has 3 connectors (2 outputs, one input)

When connecting headphones , the sound comes from both connectors, and changing the connector manually from the sound preferences doesn't change anything.

On Karmic this was working (it wasn't automatically, which would be great, but it worked when I changed it manually from the sound preferences)
