Bug Description
When using the system testing tool I cannot hear anything recorded through the built-in microphone.
When I turn up the sensitivity in the sound preferences to the max it does seem to pick up sound, albeit with alot of amplified static.
The speakers are turned up and I other sounds play normally (e.g. the logon sound). The microphone works OK in windows.

CheckboxData: The microphone does work. However, the microphone only picks up anything if the "amplified" bar is set all the way to the right. When I do that I get alot of hissing background noise. (Yes the speakers are turned up!). It works fine in windows.
