Bug Description
Binary package hint: firefox-3.0
I have installed edubuntu 9.04 alongside windows vista on my hp pavilion dv7 laptop. But, since installation there has been no sound except at start up when i get a repeated drumming going over and over that slowly fades out. I believe it is the sound that ubuntu usually starts up with, but it just continues and is somewhat distorted. After this sound fades there is no sound through the speakers. I have tried playing music with Amarok and Rhythmbox Music Player. The sound card on this pc is an IDT High Definition Audio. I think the issue is that it requires special drivers which aren't available on ubuntu, or I haven't found them yet.
Any advice would be great, cheers.
