The same configuration as in suomaf report.

Sound not working after suspend to RAM, front microphone not working.

Adding line

options snd-hda-intel model=acer-aspire

to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf doesn't help.

Rebuillding alsa modules with m-a helps neither, sound output in this case doesn't work at all (though no mixer channels are muted). The same happens when alsa drivers are compiled manually (./configure --with-cards=all).

Output from dmesg:
hda_codec: Unknown model for ALC662, trying auto-probe from BIOS...

Update:

Fresh alsa-driver-1.0.20 (compiled from source) solves microphone issue, but not sound problems after suspend.

Is there any way to get a .deb file for alsa-driver-1.0.20 or do i have to compile.. i am hoping that i might be able to do it thru apt-get or synaptic.. thanks gaestur

I just compiled it (./configure --with-cards=all && make && sudo make install). I know that it's not the best way for future system maintenance (needs to be recompiled with each kernel upgrade), but I'm not sure there are any precompiled .debs. Sorry :(

I tried that.. seems that it won't compile easily might need some patch or another.

okay finally got around to compiling alsa, I followed this page http://www.antonywilliams.com/2007/10/bash-script-to-automate-compiling-alsa.html and it worked fine so I guess its now on to find how to make the cpu fan work
