No Sound (realtek ALC861 chip on P5GD1 pro)

Bug Description

No sound, i.e. sound card not properly detected
can't really say much about that - tried to google
for alsa realtek alc861 and there are postings about
a working driver which i couldn't track down
(too many broken links).

i am using ubuntu 5.10 with a 2.6.12-10-686 kernel

not sure if there are any soundcard related error messages in my dmesg.
will also attach lspci

ok problem solved, my fault, sorry for that.
the default device was set to use HDA intel (alsa mixer)
and should have been set to realtek ALC880 (oss mixer)

I have a Toshiba L35 S10111 with Ubuntu 9.1 and i do not have sound.
AlsaMixer detect my board as Card: HDA ATI SB Chip: Realtek ALC861.

but still i do not have sound .
actually master is 00 and front 00.

i accept any sugestion you may have.

I cannot use my WiFi anymore. It says that there is a problem with the ethernet internal card. ( not detected).
