Hi Hui, Running the command before plugging in headphone didn't work. So I plugged in, choose as Headphone and then run the command - $ amixer sset 'Input Source' "Headset Mic" and it did worked. I can now hear the sound, but only till the time I didn't plug out and plug in again. So clearly it is not a solution at all. Though I am not much troubled by this, but fixing this issue will be beneficial for other users particularly new Ubuntu users. And there is nothing weird that you can record audio with a pure headphone. This feature was already in previous Ubuntu versions and Windows also. Its quite cool and fun. I would be glad if you try this. Thank you for your response. I just learned a few new tricks with terminal. Thanks and Regards, Anubhav Mishra On Sun, Apr 26, 2020 at 8:32 PM Hui Wang
