Bug Description
After some testing, aplay -D hw:2,2 samplename works but there seems to be no way to set that in gnome or for other applications?

Further, there is period of no sound at all from optical output when starting to play sample.

So, in short, even though Gnome panel allows setting the device, it does not allow handling correct /output/ when there are multiple choices? E.g. only optical connected to receiver instead of analog.
