Hello there,
Try this workaround:
In the file /usr/share/ pulseaudio/ alsa-mixer/ paths/iec958- stereo- output. conf, ensure that its' populated as such:
```
# This file is part of PulseAudio. www.gnu. org/licenses/>.
#
# it under the terms of the GNU Lesser General Public License as
[General]
description = Headphones + Digital Output (S/PDIF)
[Element IEC958]
switch = mute
```
When done, issue a reboot.
See the new tags:
```
[General]
description = Headphones + Digital Output (S/PDIF)
```
That makes it possible for userland tools such as pavucontrol (a pulseaudio program for configuring sound device properties) and the sound panel to pick up the settings for the headphone and SPDIF audio jack by adding a proper description for it as shown above.
