onboard sound and sound card: problem selecting playback device

Bug Description

It seems that, when installing kubuntu in a computer which has a motherboard
with onboard sound and a separate sound card, the system selects the onboard
sound card as the default sound card.

I'm having this problem with soundblaster live and C-Media onboard.

Aditional info:
Both soundcards are listed in KMix but there isn't output even when the user
selects the soundblaster card.
