In alas mixer there is a channel miss identified as headphones that regulates the speakers volume. The problem is that after unplugging the headphones it is muted and volume set to zero.
If I raise the volume there I can hear sound from my speakers again. I hope that if I take out my headphones I don't have to start terminal and alsamixer to use my speakers.
I understand this computer had driver problems in the past but I thought they were resolved.
