Bug Description

The audio playback through HDMI works in slow motion after a resume from suspension.

Before the suspension the audio works as expected on both the "internal speaker" and "HDMI" output cards.
When you suspend (and then resume) the system the audio playback starts acting weird through the HDMI output card.
The audio is played in slow motion and you can also see that the time of playback is going on slower than the time in real life.

Let me describe one of the tests I've performed.
 I've booted the system and started playing a song in vlc.
 I've opened the Ubuntu sound settings.
 I've selected the "HDMI" output card and the playback worked as expected.
 I've selected the "Internal speakers" output card and the playback worked as expected.

 Then I've closed vlc, suspended and then resumed the system.

 I've started playing a song in vlc again.
 I've opened the Ubuntu sound settings.
 I've selected the "HDMI" output card and the playback started working in slow motion: the audio was extremely slow and also the time indicator was working slowly (5 seconds of the song were played in about 10 seconds "in real life").
 I've selected the "Internal speakers" output card and the playback started working as expected again.

Please note that after a resume from suspension when you select the "Internal speakers" card the bug disappears and when you select the "HDMI" card the bug appears again.
I've tested this bug also with videos in vlc, in a browser and in totem. The bug appears (or disappears) in the same way.
The bug affects every kind of audio, including system sounds.

Everything works fine before a suspension.
The only way I found to restore the before-suspension behavior is a reboot.

Steps to reproduce:
 * Make sure this is a fresh boot (never suspended since the last boot).
 * Play something with audio
   (tested with: video in browser, song in vlc and Ubuntu speaker tests).
 * Select "Speakers - Internal audio" as output device (Audio works as expected).
 * Select "HDMI - Internal audio" as output device (Audio works as expected).
 * Stop the audio playback.
 * Suspend and resume the system.
 * Play something again.
 * Select "Speakers - Internal audio" as output device (Audio works as expected).
 * Select "HDMI - Internal audio" as output device (The bug appears).

Expected behavior:
 * Audio playback should work well through "Speakers - Internal audio" as output device.
 * Audio playback should work well through "HDMI - Internal audio" as output device.

Actual behavior:
 * Audio playback is working well through "Speakers - Internal audio" as output device.
 * Audio playback is working in slow motion through "HDMI - Internal audio" as output device.
