Other outputs (eg HDMI audio out) seem to work fine, but the internal speakers do nothing. They work in Windows.

  1. Test if this happens after installing the latest mainline kernel (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds).
  2. Tell the result here.

I upgraded to 3.19.3-031903 a few days ago and it seems to have fixed the problem.

Did you upgrade the kernel using the regular updates or using the mainline built (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds)?
