Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

Changed in alsa-driver (Ubuntu):
status: New → Confirmed

Here is a solution that seems to work for me (Acer Travelmate B115):
add the line
options snd-hda-intel model=dell-headset-multi
in the file called /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf (or create the file if it doen't exist
In my case that makes internal microphone and headset microphone available. Automatic switching between the two is not perfect but in case it doesn't switch automatically I can fix it in pavucontrol.
Hope it helps in your environment, too!

I have same model (Aspire V15 Nitro - Black Edition), using elementart OS Freya (Ubuntu 14.04 based)

I added the line from comment 4 into the alsa-base.conf file, rebooted and everything is the same, can't get it working.
