Bug Description
Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit installed on home theater PC, replacing 12.04. As usual, having problems getting Pulseaudio and XBMC to cooperate on passthrough audio over SPDIF. So I removed Pulseaudio and switched to Alsa for sound processing. This fixed the problem with passthrough audio, but unlike previous versions of Ubuntu, this action deleted most of the icons from the Systems Settings panel.

I have also had this problem. I own a Lenovo x201 that cannot use PulseAudio thus I have to use Alsa. So whenever I remove pulse I remove all meta data dealing with system settings. Is there any information about this yet?
Thank you
