seem your headphone are always plugged

try hda-jack-sense-test when headphone is plugged or unplugged

control.37 {

you need to try hda-jack-sense-test first ?

have you checked whether your front audio panel are HDA or AC97 ?

Hi Raymond
My PC has front audio panel connectors for microphone and headphone. I not able to execute hda-jack-sense-test because if I type this in a terminal window I have a "command not found" error.

Hi Raymond
My chassis has front audio panel with jacks for microphone and
headphone. Sorry but how can I try the hda-jack-sense-test? If I type
this in a terminal I obtain "no such command"

regards

install snd-hda-tools

you need to post the result of hda-jack-sense-test since it is unlikely for a desktop to use inv_jack_detect or disable Jack detect if auto mute work in windows

https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/tiwai/sound.git/tree/Documentation/sound/alsa/HD-Audio.txt

do your motherboard bios setup allow you to select front audio panel type : hda or AC97 ?

Hi Raymond
I install the the alsa-tools-gui and using the advanced override flag I
have seen that the Headphone jack was present on the panel but it was
not inserted. So using override I mark it as not inserted and the audio
works, but if I restart I have to repeat the operation.

Bye

set the bit 8 of pin default of headphone mean the Jack have no circuit for Jack detection and driver won't enable unsolicited event for Jack detection and create the Jack detection control

i.e. you will lost the auto mute feature

do you mean auto mute works fine in windows ?

if you are not using pulseaudio, disable auto mute is enough

Simple mixer control 'Auto-Mute Mode',0
  Capabilities: enum
  Items: 'Disabled' 'Enabled'
  Item0: 'Enabled'

but if you are using pulseaudio which use the value of the Jack detection control to mute/unmute the line out jack

Node 0x1b [Pin Complex] wcaps 0x40018f: Stereo Amp-In Amp-Out
  Control: name="Headphone Playback Switch", index=0, device=0
    ControlAmp: chs=3, dir=Out, idx=0, ofs=0
  Control: name="Front Headphone Jack", index=0, device=0

the easy way is to force pulseaudio not mute the front and other playback switches

you can try early patching using hint

[hint]
multi_io=0

to disable multi io to get back the headphone volume control

- multi_io (bool): try probing multi-I/O config (e.g. shared
  line-in/surround, mic/clfe jacks)
