Although I see in volume control that there is some kind of audio ouput, I don't here anything.

xrandr --verbose

your grpahic driver request your hdmi TV/monitor to provide EDID which contain speaker allocation , rate and channels , those info are passed as ELD to audio driver

Could you post the output of:
sudo cat /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch

to see if your AMD GPU get's switched off as well?

Hi Paul,

Yesterday I decided to do a fresh installation of Ubuntu (14.04). All
problems dissapeared. Unfortunately, I'm not able to reproduce the old
situation. Sorry for that :(

Problems started after the upgrade, that´s right.
