I have sound from the laptop, but no sound when i use the jack. It works when running windows.

Well, I've done some research on this

Seems like plugging the headphones in makes pulseaudio change the audio sink port. You can see that by using the

pacmd list | grep "active port"

and when you change active port back to "analog-output-speaker" with headphones connected, everything works fine. Give it a try:

pacmd set-sink-port 0 analog-output-speaker

But I wonder if someone can fix that problem with analog-output-headphones or just automatically change the volume level without changing audio sink port (auto-mute works just fine)

Also I forgot to mention that upgrading my system fixed the issue, but then I booted to Windows and everything isn't working properly again

Well... Something really really strange is happening. Everything is working again with analog-output-headphones. I guess, I can reproduce this bug again by simply rebooting to windows

Yes, this seems to hit enough people to try to fix...

Based on your comment in bug 1304074 I have a guess of what could be
wrong, but I need someone to test a fix. Can you help me with that? I
will provide more instructions in the bug shortly.

Hi,

Could you - or anyone else affected by this bug - try this dkms package? Install it, reboot and test. Or reboot into Windows and back again, if that's what it takes to reproduce it.

And let me know if it's working or not working.

Note that the DKMS package contain changes for Asus X550CC, K55VJ, S550CB and K55VD. If you have something else you need to submit AlsaInfo so I can add the relevant match for the machine.

First, I try a lot of options snd-hda-intel, but only works this:

options snd-hda-intel model=alc255-asus

for my ALC270.

But it is not enough.
I needed use hdajackretask
And force
   pin ID 0x1a to be "Headphone"

if alc255-asus don't works for you, you can try another options, like: alc269-dmic, alc271-dmic, headset-mic, alc283-headset.
Don't forget to restart the machine after hdajackretask.
