M-Audio Revolution: no sound in the rear speakers

Bug Description

I have an M-Audio Revolution 7.1 which is recognized and installed, however no sound is coming from the rear speakers. There is no option to duplicate front speakers like many onboard systems have. This feature needs to be added and the PCM Rear sliders will have some use.

This issue has been fixed with Hardy, this bug can now be closed.

I am using ubuntu 8.10 amd64 with an M-Audio Revolution 7.1 and I can't get the rear speakers making sound with the default configuration (playing around with Volume Control and different players).

Is it really closed?
