Bug Description

i'm new with linux. i've got a nvidia gtx 260 and a dvi adaptar to connect with hdmi to my amplifier. this works perfectly on windows but not with linux. also i tried an coax cable to connect the desktop with the amplifier but also no sound. i tried a few solutions like changing to 5.1 multichannel but nothing worked.

what confuses me ist that the device is always analog and not digital. it should be digital i guess but i have no idea how to change it

help is very much apprechiated
