Sound not working on tyan S7025, Alsa detects, and activates controller, but no sound

Bug Description

It works under ubuntu 10.04, and windows.

The card is detected by the system, alsa and is activated (Intel Corporation 82801JI (ICH10 Family) HD Audio Controller)

I've unmuted everything.
I can't test the digital port (so I don't know if that is sending anything), since I have nothing to plug into it.

This release of Ubuntu is no longer receiving maintenance updates. If this is still an issue on a maintained version of Ubuntu please let us know.
