Bug Description
The Analog Input Monitor and Digital Input Monitor for the Xonar DS are both unmuted when Ubuntu starts. This results in completely messed up and horrible audio until I disable those two input monitors. Instead, these should both be muted. They were both muted in Ubuntu 12.10, so this is a regression.

Oh, that's a little embarrassing. alsactl init solved this - as did deleting /var/lib/ alsa/asound. state to get rid of whatever customizations we had before. Still, I don't recall doing this myself (especially not running alsactl store after doing it), so I wonder if it's an upgrade issue?
