M-audio 2496 card is
24-bit/96kHz digital audio card,S/PDIF digital I/O with PCM and AC-3/DTS
passthrough,
1 x 1 MIDI I/O
2496 Minimum System Requirements (PC) Windows 98SE / Me / 2000 (SP4) / XP
(SP2)* / Vista SP2 (32Bit , 64 Bit) / Win7 (32Bit , 64 Bit)For 96kHz
operation: Pentium III 500mHz w/ 128MB RAMFor 48kHz operation: Pentium II
400 w/ 64MB RAMI am using Gigabyte GA-Z68AP-D3 ver.2 motherboard. CPU is
i7-2700K 3.50ghz, 8mb Cache, LGA1155,95W.

I have also noted these effects are present on the m-audio 1010 card, 8 x 8
analog I/0, also with  digital I/O with PCM and AC-3/DTS pass-through. If
we can get this ironed out, this would be my next choice for upgrade card
but for similar issues reported by others that I noted in my search.
